The Effect of the Media User Interface on Interactivity and Content
A paper which proposes that the design of even small details in the user interface of a medium may have large effects on patterns in how this medium is used, implying larger consequences. Although it mostly use examples from research on use of the TV remote control, the conclusions are meant to be applied to emerging media.
